Mapquest Driving Directions in German

Federal Republic of German is one of the most industrialized country in the world, located in the middle of Europe and shares its border with Denmark, Poland, the Republic Czesk, Austria, France, Luxembourg, Belgium and Netherland. Mapquest Driving Directions clearly shows that north of German borders the Baltic and NorthSea. German is one of the founders of the European Union and has the highest population of EU. German is also a member of NATO and G8.
Capital and headquarters of the government is located in Berlin, some offices of the ministries are located in Bonn. Germany have totally 16 states.
Geography
Located between the plains are formed from  Ice Age  and Alps in the north and a mountainous region in the south with an average elevation in the centre. The lowest place is Neuendorf-Sachsenbande in Wilstermarsch: 3.54 m below sea level. Zugspitze is the highest mountain with a 2962 m height.
Topographic changes higher and higher in the north-south direction. In ther northern part of German, the North German plain, is a plain which is largely formed in Ice Age, continue to the south is hilly with central forests  and southern territory of Germany. Especially in Bavaria and also inBaden-Württemberg which next to the North Alpenvorland is relatively high which next to the high mountains of the Alpen.
Mapquest Driving Directions shows that there is a significant number of islands (chain islands in front of the land in continent) compares to the coastline of German. They are divided into North Friesen and East Friesen islands, as a part of the alluvial of German Wattenmeer.
From the mid-20th century road system has replaced most important transportation system of the German railway system. Germany is one of the countries has the densest traffic network in the world (second place after the U.S.), including 11,980 km of highway (Autobahn) and 41,386 km of intercity roads. Speed in highways is not limited only in German.
The main rivers are the Rhine, Danube, Elbe, Weser and Oder. The longest one is the Danube River. It is 2845 km starting from where the meet of two rivers Brigach and Breg and is the source of the Danube in Donaueschingen, or with 2888km from the source of the Breg River at the edge of the Black Forest (Schwazwald). Danube is the second longest river of Europe after Volga. Only a small part of the Danube  flows through Germany (47 km). Danube flows to the Black Sea.

The largest city of Germany is Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, Frankfurt, Dortmund,Essen, Stuttgart and Düsseldorf.
